My Favorite Firsts

So, even more has happened since my last post! We found out shortly after our adoption finalization with Copeleigh, that baby #5 is on the way!!! I’m due May 17, 2018 with our sweet baby girl Livey Caroline! Having twice the amount of children as I did last time I was pregnant has come with its own challenges, but we are so blessed and thankful for another blessing from God! And after much prayer and discussion with my doctors, we’ve decided that Livey will complete our family! We are ecstatic to meet her in a few months and begin our parenting journey with five unique blessings!

Naturally, I’ve been very emotional this pregnancy, and big and little things make me cry when I least expect it. We’ve been talking lately about the “best day of our life” and we’ve come to the conclusion that we just cannot pick a best day. There are too many good ones to narrow it down. But there is a favorite thing I have for each of our children, and that’s my favorite “firsts” with each one! So here goes...

Maddox, my oldest boy, and the first baby of mine that I saw your beautiful eyes. There are a lot of things that come to mind when I think of my favorite times with you so far, but my favorite first was seeing your picture for the first time! I remember it as clearly as if it happened 5 minutes ago, (which is saying a lot because mommy brain has really clouded a lot of my memory.) I was standing in Firehouse subs, filling up my large sweet tea. We were there eating dinner after we got the phone call from Rosalind that we had been matched with you and sissy! We were already in love with a set of 9 month old twins, and we had no clue what you looked like! As I was filling up my tea, I checked my email, and a picture from Rosalind had just come through! I opened it up and immediately started crying and shouting and laughing! Running over to show daddy! I just couldn’t believe how precious you were!! Sissy was sleeping in the picture, but your big brown eyes were wide awake! I had never seen anything so miraculous in all my life! The children we had begged God for for years, right there, on my phone!!
